Today, we  published a major update to our app: the advanced pricing.

With the advanced pricing, rate plans become more flexible and robust.

So far, one could only set the date ranges that a certain price would be applicable.

Now, you can set a number of conditions and a rule that applies when the conditions are met.

The conditions can be a combination of

  • date ranges, as before,
  • day(s) of the week,
  • a certain channel
  • or the number of persons in a reservation.

The rules can be an absolute value (i.e. setting the price explicitly), a percentage increase or decrease, and a price per person.

Rate plans, once defined,  are assigned to room types.

Multiple rate plans can be assigned to a single room type.

For instance:

  • a rate plan for weekend pricing,
  • a rate plan for a high season pricing
  • and a rate plan for charging a per head for visitors exceeding a minimum.

Combining conditions, rules and  rate plans gives  great flexibility and can meet the pricing requirements of most small lodges.

In the near future we will add a few more rules and, more importantly, we will add paid extras such as paid amenities, extra beds, meals etc. With the upcoming additions, pricing in Discoveroom apps will match the pricing of much more expensive and complex apps.

The advanced pricing will be part of a new subscription plan, the Basic Plan, which gives access to Reports, Client Lists and Advanced Pricing for as low as 5€ per month.

We are rolling the advanced pricing on the web app first, but the mobile apps will soon follow.

The Free plan will continue to offer the old rate plans. If you subscribe to paid plan and then decide to fall back to the free plan, advanced rate plans will  switch to the old rate plans. The plans you have set using the advanced pricing will not be accessible but will not be lost either. If you ever re-enable a paid plan, the advanced rate plans will reappear.

If you are an old user that has never had a trial before and want to try the new rate plans out, you can start one now.

As always, we welcome your suggestions and comments.
