Today, it was officially announced that we struck a deal with Jeremy Openfund II, for a second round of seed financing, for 300.000 Euros.
The agreement came just a few months after the release of our first product (the app Discoveroom Reservations) which has shown traction above expectations.
In the time elapsed since product launch we came to realize two important things:
- small lodges needed more, in terms of app functionality, than we have initially anticipated
- travelers were more than eager to try us out than we expected, and were trying to search for accommodation through our app but they couldn’t because we have neither aggregated such a big number of lodgings yet, nor have we developed the relevant functionality.
With the new financing we will attempt to remedy the above weaknesses. We want to accelerate the development pace and extend our product breadth at the same time. And we have already planned our hiring accordingly. We already have four new people on board and we need another two, and, we hope, we will have them pretty soon.
I am personally very optimistic about our future prospects. Despite delays and setbacks, our course so far has been very heartening and rewarding, and, above all, real fun. We have enjoyed every moment so far. And we are eager for more.
